Before the beginning, there was a council in Heaven, a council formed from Deity's spiritual offspring. A council devised and sanctioned by our Father that was formed to devise a plan to help his children learn to achieve happiness and joy and become more like Him. In the council, it was discussed that we were different from Heavenly Father in many ways. The primary differences were our lack of a body and our wisdom and decision making had not been proven. I am certain the principles of obedience were discussed and becoming as one with God through our thoughts and our actions and our love for our fellow creations. We would need to know good from evil, we would need to know joy and sorrow, pleasure and pain, hunger and thirst, we would have to operate on faith, not knowing for sure one way or the other, but only having a gut feeling, in our hearts as to which way to go. A gut feeling that could be masked. No this would not be an easy task.
Without a doubt when discussing the possibility of entering into mortality and into a time oriented environment where there would be a deadline for obedience to certain principles, the topic must have come up that we would fall short of these goals. Consequences were discussed, eternal consequences. Perhaps the biggest consequence of being kept from the love of God was strong enough to motivate many to seek for an easier way. To the unintelligent spirits, they saw and focused on the pain: We would hunger, we would thirst, we would feel pain of body and spirit. We would be lonely and sad. We could fall into bondage spiritually, physically, financially, and physiologically.Perhaps like little children, a realization began to sweep through the spirits; a realization that the earth would be a difficult place to live; fear came upon them, a fear of loss, fear of not being able to return, fear of knowing that when placed in front of temptation they would surely fold.
The need for a stopgap emerged. A plan of redemption ensued, a plan to redeem us from a certainty of failure, a certainty that none of us would be perfectly aligned in purpose, action and love. The plan of salvation was presented. Jehovah would make right what we did wrong, if we sought to follow him in Faith, further aligning our thoughts, beliefs and actions with his. Symbolically being baptised and receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost. As we remember Him and align our thoughts words and deeds with him we would qualify for spiritual communication that would guide us back to him, and help us guide each other back to him.
God knew we could do it, for he had done it. Like a leader taking a group of boys to the top of a mountain, tough but possible. But many did not believe themselves capable of doing it, like a child unsure of pouring their own milk or tieing their own shoe. Fear of failure came upon many, having never done it before, they knew not their divine capacities. One of them, perhaps out of misguided fear or a misunderstanding of true love, sought to capitalize on these fears. One of them knew that many would fall and wanted to prevent this from happening, perhaps desirous that others might be safe. This one proposed an alternative to God's law; this one proposed that if all that was required was obedience, perhaps we could simply make them obey. Create a secure way or a safety net wherein all would be saved. Surely they could do it, by simply removing one principle and all others would be obeyed. But the one principle was choice, the principle of liberty. If all could be forced to obey then none could fail and all sons and daughters of God would be perfect, in this mistaken theory. If someone was hungry, those with food would be obligated to be give, If someone lacked for clothes all would be taxed until everyone had clothes. If someone was sad, others would be forced to visit them and comfort them. If someone was hurt, doctors would be required to mend them and others still to pay for it. If insurance was too expensive, others would be forced to pay for their insurance. Nobody would be allowed to harm another because nobody would have weapons.
This lie, so smoothly crafted, polished and taught, denied a basic premise of Godliness. The premise that choice was important, choosing to love like our Father is different from being forced to love. Being charitable is a far cry from being forced to be charitable. That submitting willfully is far different than coerced obedience. Lucifer, probably used images of small children being taken advantage of, wars, and blood sheds, theft and hatred as justification even the necessity of foregoing liberty. "Surely many will give in to temptation, to addiction, many will choose habits and actions that will lead them away from God. Actions and habits that will cause them to injure and harm each other, to take bread from each other. Actions that would make them deaf to the tugging on their hearts by the spirit. cry the servents of sin. Lucifer certainly caused many to tremble, to quake and reminded them of their fears, and that they were not capable of choosing for themselves, for they would be born with urges that they could not control, desires to be loved that would lead them to seek for the approval of others unto the wearing fine clothes, use of fine cars and seek for approval and fame, even if that meant abusing substances, their bodies or others bodies.
So the great council in heaven, became a great debate, and the great debate turned into a war. A war for the eternal souls of all.
One seeking to prove himself, and desiring the glory for himself, sought to make all others subject to his will, depriving them of liberty and choice, thereby forcing them to be controlled from on high.
The other knowing that though there would be many casualties, and many who would make the improper choices, but many still that would choose correctly. That all sons and daughters could be like their Heavenly Parents if they would choose to be like them. That Joy and happiness are but a the just result of having avoided pitfalls of wrong choices and perfect alignment with the will of our Father, becoming united in purpose.
So here we are, still engaged in this seemingly never ending battle. A battle between good and evil, a battle between control and liberty, a battle between self centeredness and self development. Those who sought for Satan's control still exist among us, we can't see them for they chose to continue without bodies, they chose to exist without hope, they chose the false premise of security. They walk among us seeking to prove their fears through us, that we are too weak, too selfish, too self absorbed to visit the sick and afflicted or teach and preach the plan of happiness to each other. They are here as stewards of their evil king, having subjected their will to his, being miserable for all eternity.
They still seek for control of the masses, they seek it through addiction, though debt, through jealousy, through envy and pride. They seek that man will make himself greater than each other by driving costly vehicles and wearing costly clothes and owning large and expansively expensive homes. That men will lose focus on their purpose on earth. They seek that we will follow them in causing our neighbors to be subject to bondage by either fear, greed, apathy, ignorance or by diversion. To do anything to keep us from helping and loving our fellow man.
We all seek for approval, for security, for safety, for love, but the means by which we do it will have consequences for all. We can only have real security when we return to our Father, we can only have lasting love and happiness in His presence, We can only have lasting pleasure and joy with an eternal companion. These things can only be achieved through our choices, be they actions or words. But we cannot be united with God in purpose and mind, unless we stand for the liberty of all. Patrick Henry spoke well when he said, "Give me liberty or give me Death".
